Mantis also called as mantid is a carnivorous insects.
Praying mantis looks very cute but some
praying mantis are very ugly as cockroaches, praying mantis lives on insects around them. In my rose garden there are many types of mantis. Male mantis are little bit small than female mantis.
Praying mantis really cleans pests on the garden.

These small creature are really amazing, the fact that the
female praying mantis eats the male mantis while mating makes the people really amazing. No one knows why they eat male, but some assume that they eat male for protein to develop the eggs. They do have amazing apitite. Praying mantis has triangular head which turns around 180 degree in search of insects.

Chinese mantis are popular insects. Some Chinese use mantis as the medicine too.

Praying mantis has life span of about 12 months. They are so called praying
mantis because they rest their spiky forelegs infront while praying.
